Professional identity card BTP
Each employer who post employees in order to perform, even sporadically, works or construction works in France, must ask for the so-called professional identity cards (BTP). Every employee must possess such card by himself and in case of an inspection he is obliged to make it available at the request of inspectors.
Since 22nd of March 2017, in order to fight with “social dumping” , each foreign posting company in construction in France is obliged to apply for a professional identity card for its employees, accompanied by an appropriate secondment declaration.
The professional card is mandatory for employees occasionally posted to work on French construction sites. However, it is not required for employees who do not work on sites.
